The Red Sea University is the official government university. It is located in the capital of the Red Sea State – Port Sudan, the gateway to the people of Sudan and its main seaport.

Red Sea State is located in the eastern part of Sudan. The area of ​​the state is estimated at 42,330 square kilometers. It is located between latitudes 16 and 22 north and longitudes 34 and 36 east in the far northeastern corner of Sudan. The region is characterized by a unique natural situation that is distinguished from the rest of Sudan by the presence of the high mountain range on one side and the area adjacent to a water body (the Red Sea) on the other.

The University of the Red Sea works within the framework of the general policy of the state and the programs set by the National Council for Higher Education to obtain knowledge, teach it, develop its curricula and disseminate it with the aim of serving the country and developing its resources and renaissance intellectually, scientifically, economically, socially and culturally.
Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the university works to achieve the following objectives:
